“Don’t wait any longer”
Have you considered just how well we look after “things”?
Things like our cars, our gardens, our hair, our look, our homes.
It is remarkable to see just how much we care for these relatively unimportant things. Take the car. We are told to service the car each year so that we get the longest life from the vehicle. The service means changing the oil, the coolant, various other fluids and we all know that by doing this we have preserved the cars useful life. We clean it regularly not just because we like it clean but also because this removes contaminating oxides from the paint. We top up the windscreen washer and obviously put the correct fuel in because we all know that the wrong fuel will stop the car. All in all we are happy to spend hundreds of dollars on servicing and fuels to preserve our precious car and then often replace it after only a few years because there is a newer model out.
We are content to have our grass cut weekly if necessary and fed at the beginning and end of the season along with the pruning that’s necessary and the addition of soil and plant feed to make our gardens flourish year after year. Once again we spend hundreds on preserving something that will undoubtedly be here long after we will.
This has not been the case with the most important thing in our lives however.
When we were new, the day we were born, fresh into the world, we hopefully started life with the potential to live perhaps one hundred years or more. During these years unfortunately we don’t always do what is necessary to preserve our own useful life. We certainly do not keep our fluids at their optimum if we are not careful what we consume. If we embark on the more dangerous aspects of life like drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, or smoking, or overeating, or even eating the wrong foods, we certainly expose ourselves to a life reduced.
It is easy for us to break down first and end up in the doctors or worse the hospital before we decide to focus on our excessive weight, or our smoking habits, or eating well. We know that by regular servicing we can prevent breakdowns in our car. We know to put the right fuels and fluids in our cars so we reach our destination. So why do we not learn a little about what is right for us? Why do we not give enough attention to how we are treating ourselves?
Instead of paying so much attention to your car, your garden, your clothes try to spend this time on you. Start thinking now about extending the years you are going to spend with your children and your grandchildren. See your brothers and sisters into a very old age.
Make a start right now. Change your oils, change your fuel, clean the fluids that are already in your body. Spend a little time learning what oils are healthy for you and those that are not. Learn what foods can keep the oxides out and the toxins at bay. It’s easier than you think. But first you must think. Next time you are filling up your car with fuel, ask yourself if you have taken enough care over your most precious vehicle… you.
